Day 1 (Saturday). Santiago de Compostela - Viveiro

Meeting point at the Parador Nacional de los Reyes Catolicos in Santiago de Compostela at 12:00 hrs. After the reception, visit the historic center of this city, a destination for pilgrims for a thousand years, which holds countless artistic treasures led by its splendid Cathedral. After lunch, our bus will take us to Ferrol, where the El Transcantabrico train awaits. Upon arrival, the crew will offer a welcome toast, while the train moves towards Viveiro. Tour through the beautiful old town of this lovely noble town, declared of tourist interest, where we will have dinner and spend the night on board.

Day 2 (Sunday). Viveiro – Ribadeo – Luarca - Oviedo

We will start the morning, as every day, enjoying our delicious à la carte and buffet breakfast. The Transcantabrian will take us to Ribadeo, a historic Galician town on the border with the Principality of Asturias. From here, we will travel by coach along the Lugo coast to the Beach of the Cathedrals, one of the most spectacular in the world. We will have a panoramic visit of Ribadeo, a beautiful noble town, declared of tourist interest, where we will have lunch. With the train, we enter Asturian lands. Arrival and visit to Luarca, the White Town of the Green Coast, before returning to the train and heading to Oviedo. Overnight in the city.

Day 3 (Monday). Oviedo – Gijon - Llanes

We'll start the day with a visit to Gijon, a city as open to the Cantabrian Sea as it is full of cultural events. Lunch will follow. Afterwards, we will travel to the capital of the Principality of Asturias, Oviedo, known for its historic center with an undeniable medieval flavor. We'll tour the city before returning to the train. Dinner will be served on board during the journey to Llanes, where we will spend the night.

Day 4 (Tuesday). Llanes – Picos de Europa – Cangas de Onis - Llanes

With our bus, we will ascend to the heart of the Principality of Asturias to reach the magnificent Picos de Europa National Park. We will visit Lake Enol and then head to the Sanctuary of Covadonga, a neo-Romanesque style basilica located next to the cave where the image of La Santina (The Virgin of Covadonga) is venerated, a place of worship and pilgrimage. Next, we will visit Cangas de Onis, a town famous for its Roman bridge, declared a historical-artistic monument, where we will have lunch. After lunch, we will arrive in Llanes, a wonderful fishing town in Eastern Asturias. We will tour the town and have some free time. Dinner and overnight stay in the town.

Day 5 (Wednesday). Llanes – Potes - Cabezon de la Sal

After breakfast, we will ascend to Potes in our coach, traveling through the impressive Hermida Gorge. We'll visit this charming Cantabrian town, after which we will enjoy a thermal spa circuit at the Hermida Spa. After lunch, we'll visit El Capricho in Comillas, a brilliant and colorful 19th-century mansion designed by Antonio Gaudí. Dinner and overnight stay in Cabezon de la Sal.

Day 6 (Thursday). Cabezon de la Sal – Santillana del Mar - Santander

Our first visit today will be to the Neocave of Altamira, a museum and faithful reproduction of this prime example of Upper Paleolithic rock art. Afterward, we will tour Santillana del Mar, a town with a wonderfully preserved medieval historic center. Following lunch, we will board the Transcantabrian train to Santander, the elegant capital of Cantabria. There, we will enjoy a guided tour and have some free time. Dinner and overnight stay in the city.

Day 7 (Friday). Santander – Bilbao - Carranza

The Transcantabrian sets its course towards Bilbao, a city full of dynamism that has successfully reinvented itself after the decline of its traditional heavy industry. The city tour includes a visit to the famous Guggenheim Museum, a symbol of this new Bilbao. After lunch, there will be some free time before boarding the train again. Dinner and overnight stay in Carranza.

Day 8 (Saturday). Carranza - San Sebastian

Enjoying our last breakfast on board, we will return to Bilbao, where the Transcantabrian train bus awaits to take us to San Sebastian. We will visit this city of elegant beauty, which is also a host to significant cultural events. The journey will conclude around 1:00 PM at the Hotel Barcelo Costa Vasca in San Sebastian.
