Oviedo is the capital of the Principality of Asturias. Known for its rich history and impressive architecture, especially in its medieval old town where the Oviedo Cathedral is located, and its famous gastronomy.

One of the main attractions of Oviedo is its old town. This historic district is full of narrow winding streets, traditional buildings, and charming squares.

It is also home to many of Oviedo’s monuments, such as the Cathedral of San Salvador, the Church of San Tirso, and the Palace of the Marquis of San Feliz.

Another notable feature of Oviedo is its park system. The city has several large parks, including Campo de San Francisco, a beautiful green space perfect for walking, jogging, or relaxing on a bench.

Oviedo is also famous for its gastronomy, especially its meat, fish, and seafood dishes. Being located near the coast, fresh seafood is readily available. Some popular dishes include fabada asturiana (a stew of beans and meats), cachopo (a breaded and fried meat dish stuffed with different fillings), and Cabrales cheese (a strong blue cheese made in the region).

Overall, Oviedo is a wonderful city to visit if you’re interested in history, culture, and great food.
