The itinerary begins in León, a very modern city with buildings like the Auditorium of the City of León and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Castilla y León. It also has a varied offer of bars and restaurants where you can taste its tapas as well as sample its variety of wines and beverages. As the train progresses, it delves into the Picos de Europa, where you can admire spectacular landscapes among mountains, green valleys, and lakes. Later, the itinerary will take you on a parallel route along the Cantabrian Sea coast until reaching Galicia.

The train makes several stops in cities such as León, Santander, Oviedo, Santiago de Compostela, where you can discover their historical and cultural sites. In addition to these important cities, the train will transport us to discover other charming towns and emblematic places in northern Spain, such as Santillana del Mar, Llanes, Luarca, Ribadeo…

Day 1 (Saturday). León - Cistierna

Group reception at the Parador Nacional San Marcos in León at 12:00 p.m., visit this fascinating city full of history. San Isidoro, Cathedral, Old Town, and San Marcos. Lunch in León. Welcome aboard the train in San Feliz and accommodation. Train journey to Cistierna. Dinner and overnight in Cistierna.

Day 2 (Sunday). Cistierna - Espinosa de los Monteros

While having breakfast, the train will cover the journey between Cistierna and Guardo. Transfer by bus to Saldaña, visit the Roman Villa of La Olmeda and the Romanesque art of Palencia: Carrión de los Condes, Villalcázar de Sirga, and Frómista. Lunch. Back on the train from Mataporquera, we will arrive at Espinosa de los Monteros, bordering the fascinating Ebro Reservoir and the region of Las Merindades. Dinner and overnight in Espinosa de Los Monteros.

Day 3 (Monday). Espinosa de Los Monteros - Santander

Day 4 (Tuesday). Santander - Llanes

During breakfast, the train will arrive at Cabezón de la Sal. Transfer by bus to Santillana del Mar, visit the Neo-cave of Altamira and this beautiful medieval village. Lunch in Santillana. In the afternoon, by train, we will enter Asturian lands until reaching the beautiful coastal town of Llanes. Dinner and overnight in Llanes.

Day 5 (Wednesday). Llanes - Oviedo

From Llanes, by bus, we reach the heart of Asturias, the Picos de Europa National Park, ascending to the Lakes, visiting the Sanctuary of Covadonga, and finally, Cangas de Onís. By train, we approach Oviedo, the capital of the Principality of Asturias, showcasing the finest gastronomy in an incredible compendium, like the city itself, exemplifying a collection of unique pre-Romanesque monuments. Dinner and overnight in Oviedo.

Day 6 (Thursday). Oviedo - Luarca

From Oviedo to Gijón, visit and lunch, then continue the journey to Luarca, known as the White Village of the Green Coast. Dinner and overnight in Luarca.

Day 7 (Friday). Luarca - Viveiro

The first enclave of Galicia, bordering Asturias, is Ribadeo, where the Eo River flows into the sea. Visit Ribadeo, the Beach of the Cathedrals, and lunch. In the afternoon, by train, we will arrive in Viveiro, visit the town, have dinner, and stay overnight in Viveiro.

Day 8 (Saturday). Viveiro - Santiago de Compostela

While we have breakfast, we will arrive in Ferrol, and by bus, we will go to our final destination, Santiago de Compostela, the goal of the Jacobean pilgrims, where the Plaza del Obradoiro, Platerías, and the Cathedral await like jewels. We will conclude the journey at the Parador de los Reyes Católicos around 1:00 p.m.
