The original composition of this luxury train was three Pullman lounge cars built in the United Kingdom in 1923 (pub, bar, and lounge) that today are the refurbished, fitted, and Belle Époque-decorated lounge cars of “El Transcantábrico Gran Lujo,” authentic jewels of railway historical heritage.
Another aspect to consider is the limitation on the number of passengers per trip, set to only 28 travelers. This results in excellent and highly personalized service, considerations to value on a journey of this caliber.
Life on board in the lounge cars of El Transcantábrico
All the lounge cars are internally connected, allowing free movement of passengers, offering an interior mobility not contemplated in other means of transport. This circumstance, combined with traveling with our accommodation (hotel on rails), allows visiting different places without the need to pack and unpack luggage, avoiding all the inconveniences this entails.
Additionally, the journey is relaxed where we can enjoy the different lounge cars, spaces created for enjoyment while traveling. Contemplating the various landscapes while traveling is a pleasant and relaxing possibility, and it can be done from anywhere on the train, but the ideal spot is in the glass-enclosed panoramic lounge.
After dinner in the dining car, a popular gathering place is the pub car with live performances and a relaxed atmosphere.
Additionally, to allow travelers to rest, the Transcantabrian train remains parked at scheduled stations during the journey, also permitting passengers who wish to disembark and enjoy the locale.
